There’s a reason summer is the peak visitor season for Pēwhairangi/The Bay of Islands. It’s because city-dwellers know there’s simply no better place in New Zealand to be for the summer holidays. The weather is hot, the sea is inviting, the music is playing and plenty of fun activities are on tap to keep you buzzing. As always, our historical and cultural heritage, vibrant food and wine scene, and an abundance of ways to chill out and relax beckon as well.

We keep track of each season’s events (below) to assist visitors with their trip planning – so come and stay at Pāteke Lodge to enjoy these and the region’s world-class permanent attractions.
